MIZEN Fine Art

Exceptional events in september

From 4th to 8th September, we invite you to join us at the Salon Maison & Objet Paris (Hall 7) for demonstrations of Kintsugi.

Kintsugi, is an art form, which is still relatively unknown in France, it literally means “golden joinery”. Kintsugi, also known as gold lacquer, consists of repairing the broken ceramics using a lacquer dusted with powdered gold. It is a Japanese technique, which dates back to around the 15th century, developed by Japanese artists.

This aesthetics was highly appreciated by the Japanese Chajin (participants in the Japanese tea ceremony), the art of Kintsugi allowed the development of a new aesthetic in order to raise the aesthetic level by developing the idea of reincarnation, thus giving a new dimension and a rebirth to the original item.

MIZEN Fine Art in partnership with Elisabeth Leriche Bureau , is presenting the traditional art of Kintsugi, in the form of demonstrations conducted by Showzi TSUKAMOTO ( Kintsugi Souké).

This is an opportunuty to discover exceptional works organized through this exhibition, with the possibility of acquiring these works on the final day of the exhibition.

From 10th to 13th September, we look forward to welcoming you at the Revelations Art Fair, which will be held at the Grand Palais (stand J10).

Organized by the Ateliers d’Art de France, the Revelations Exhibition is a cultural event, where the MIZEN Gallery will have the pleasure of introducing you to its artists of contemporary Japanese art.

Sessions of “See and Touch” will be organized at our stand. Conducted by Marion CHOTTIN, researcher in philosophy of Knowledge and Perceptions at the CNRS, these sessions will invite you to discover their works in a different way…
